Paddle is the best one for the developers. It is very easy. Based on your country, you can choose the payment gateway of your choice. Problem with paddle (as of writing this) is that this works for US based account only.

2CheckOut is another payment gateway (which is merged with avangate) that suits best.

We use Stripe for subscription payments for www.unified.vu – with all payment networks, you need to hedge against bad customers, who may decide to claim back after using your services. You are guilty by default, so evidence needs to be provided by you, rather than the customer.

I’d choose between Stripe and BrainTree. The advantages to being able to save and re-bill a credit card as per the need of the platform is truly liberating.

We’ve used Stripe in the past for some implementations and the API complexity & overall integration difficulty is very low, so nearly anyone can get started without too much difficulty.

There’s the immature restrictions that RBI puts in place for Indian entities making recurring and billing authorizations quite complex – so based on your concept you may need to have some registration work done outside India to make this really seamless.

Hope this helps!

Paddle is the worst for high time. When some help situation arrises they do not respond for more than a week.

Frustrated user.

2Checkout is GREAT for Indian sellers.  A lot of Indian sellers use 2Checkout and they even accept Pay Pal!  If your business needs recurring payments, you are left with no choice but to go for a non-Indian payment gateway – Indian PG’s don’t allow recurring payments. If you only wanted to process one-time payments. There is one site in which you can have some options. SoftwareSuggest

I have used 2 CheckOut, which previously was called Avangate, Cleverbridge and Digital River’s ShareIt. Now, I am testing the new platform – ComeCero. It gives me a better price offer, and the features on the platform are easier for us to process and save my team more time to do marketings.

All startups, be they merchants (think Uber or Airbnb) to e-commerce marketplaces (List) to subscription services (SaaS companies like Slack), have one thing in common: the need to process payments.

These need to be wherever the consumer wants to transact, be it web, mobile or in-app, and in a way that is so seamless that conversions are high and basket abandonment rates low.

So, Choosing the right payment gateway is like choosing your life partner: one should have some special characteristics that you find important, but in the end, it all comes down to the fact how special they make you feel and what your inner voice tells you about your choice!

Ultimate goal: Everyone should find a hassle-free gateway provider that supports your business model, your product or service by allowing you to create any payment scenario you want in the most simple, fast and friendly way.

Here, I have mentioned the top 10 payment gateway providers suitable for SaaS-based company.

  1. Stripe
  2. PayPal Payments Pro
  3. Amazon Payments
  4. Adyen
  5. Skrill
  6. PayU
  7. 2CheckOut
  8. Authorize.Net
  9. Payza
  10. SecurionPay

If you’re still a relatively small company and your billing isn’t too complex (and probably won’t become more complex in the future), we recommend Stripe and Braintree.
